Getting Around When You're Here

What if you don't come by car (or even if you do)? There are cabs and Ubers and Lyfts like other cities, and there's an unusually good public transportation system. Highlights (I think) are the light rail and the great online Transportation Planner at https://metrotransportation.org. Enter when you want to leave or when you want to get to your destination and get immediate feedback on your public transportation options. Three different city bus lines stop at the corner just seven houses away, and transfers to other buses or the light rail get you almost anywhere you want to go. Get to downtown Minneapolis in five minutes, or connect to the high speed light rail five minutes from here to go to the Mall of America, Airport, University of Minnesota, or downtown St. Paul. You can buy a "go card" online and replenish the fare during your trip, or buy an unlimited 7-day pass. From May to November, you can also rent a bike, a pedal-assist ebike, or a Lyft scooter and take it nearly anywhere in the metro area. Bikes are available right across the street. https://www.niceridemn.com/explore.
